Tables on the sand
The heart of Sudda's. Tables set straight onto the beach, lit by strings of bulbs after dark, with the waves a few steps away.
About us

Our place
Sudda's Beach Restaurant is a beachfront restaurant at 47/B Initium Rd, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, at the sea end of Initium Road and across the coastal railway line. We serve Sri Lankan favourites and seafood: devilled and hot butter dishes, curries, kottu, fried rice and noodles, along with soups, sandwiches, fresh juices and desserts.
Families, groups of friends and colleagues come here to unwind by the sea. Some come for lunch in the shade, most stay for the sunset, and plenty are still here when the string lights come on. We are open every day from 10 am to midnight.
Our dishes are priced for sharing. Every rice and noodle dish is a portion for two, and our special mixed platters are built for the whole table.

Where to sit

The heart of Sudda's. Tables set straight onto the beach, lit by strings of bulbs after dark, with the waves a few steps away.

Shade in the heat of the day, with a view of the sea framed by palm trees. The easiest spot for a long lunch.

An open-sided timber deck with an upstairs bar area. Guests describe the setting as one of the coolest parts of the place.

An indoor room with timber chairs and a striking black-and-white mural, for when the wind picks up.
