01

What are Sudda's Beach Restaurant's opening hours?

We are open every day of the week from 10 am until 12 midnight, weekends included. That covers a late-morning omelette, a long lunch on the sand, drinks at sunset or a late dinner after work. Late-night food is one of the things guests come to us for.

02

Where is Sudda's Beach Restaurant?

We are at 47/B Initium Rd, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, right on the beach at the sea end of Initium Road. Cross the coastal railway line and you are on our sand. We sit between Wellawatte and Mount Lavinia, a short drive from Dehiwala junction and the Galle Road.

03

Do I need to book a table?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking for dinner, especially at weekends and around sunset when the beach tables fill first. Call 072 292 9874 or send us a WhatsApp with your name, the day, the time and how many of you are coming, and we will hold a table.

04

How much does a meal cost?

Most guests spend between Rs 2,000 and Rs 7,000 per person, based on what diners report on Google. Curries start at Rs 1,420, kottu at Rs 1,425 and fried rice at Rs 1,420. Rice and noodle dishes are sharing portions for two, which keeps a table for four good value.

05

Is there a service charge?

Yes. As printed on our menu, a 10% service charge is added to the bill. All menu prices are in Sri Lankan rupees and are listed in full on our menu page, so you can work out the cost of a meal for your table before you arrive.

06

Can rice and noodle dishes be shared?

Yes. Every rice and noodle dish on our menu is a sharing portion for two people, from vegetable fried rice to Mongolian mixed rice and nasi goreng. Most tables order one rice or noodle dish for every two guests, then add a devilled, hot butter or curry dish to share.

07

What kind of food do you serve?

Sri Lankan beach favourites and Chinese-style dishes: devilled chicken, prawns and cuttlefish, hot butter cuttlefish, crab curry, kottu, fried rice, nasi goreng, noodles and soups. There are also sandwiches, omelettes, fish and chips, fresh juices, milkshakes and our special mixed platters for larger groups.

08

Do you have vegetarian options?

Yes. Vegetarian dishes include vegetable soup, sweet corn soup, salads, hot butter mushrooms, fried garlic with kankun, vegetable fried rice, vegetable noodles, vegetable chopsuey rice and vegetable kottu. Our menu page marks every vegetarian dish, and the team can tell you which sauces suit your diet before you order.

09

Do you offer takeaway and delivery?

Yes, we do dine-in, takeaway and delivery. Order online through this website, or call 072 292 9874 or WhatsApp us with your order. For delivery, tell us your address first so we can confirm we reach you and let you know the delivery charge and the expected time.

10

Is there parking at Sudda's Beach Restaurant?

Yes. There is a free car park as well as free street parking close to the restaurant. The car park and the entrance are both wheelchair accessible. If you are coming by tuk-tuk or taxi, ask for Initium Road in Dehiwala and the driver will drop you at our gate.

11

Is the restaurant good for children and groups?

Yes. Google lists us as good for children and for groups, and families, friends and work colleagues all come here to unwind by the sea. We take bookings for birthdays, office get-togethers and farewells. Tell us your numbers in advance and we will set up tables to suit your group.

12

How can I pay?

We accept credit cards, debit cards and contactless NFC mobile payments at the restaurant, so there is no need to carry a lot of cash to the beach. Prices are in Sri Lankan rupees, and a 10% service charge is added, as printed on our menu.

13

When is the best time to see the sunset?

Sunset over the Dehiwala beach falls between about 5.50 pm and 6.30 pm through the year. Arrive around 5 pm to choose a table on the sand and watch the sky change colour over the sea. Book ahead at weekends, because sunset tables are the first to go.

14

Can I bring my own drinks?

Many of our regular guests bring their own bottle to enjoy with the sunset, and our menu covers the rest: soda, tonic, soft drinks, water and ice cubes, plus fresh juices and milkshakes. Ask the team about the current policy when you book so everything is ready when you arrive.
